Just got me an 03 VIII and have some questions

I dont want to mod it to much but I was thinking exhast and BOV. Would a bov be ok without any other mods? Pretty much i like the sound when you shift.

Turbo back worth the extra 3-400? Or stick to cat back? What kind of gains should I expect? And I dont want a weedeater sounding car, would rather it be quiet or maybe just a slight rumble.

Hey, A bov is pretty much worthless unless you are planning on running higher than stock boost. If you want to do some mod's get a boost controller, boost guage and exhaust. If you like the way it sounds when you shift, maybe later on down the road when you are thinking about upgrading the turbo, get a short ram. That will make the stock bov whoosh sound that you like. But i wouldnt do that as an early mod. As for the exhaust, if you just want a quiet or a slight rumble, i would just get the cat-back. I have a greddy Evo2 exhaust and it sounds great but you are looking to spend a little more than 400 for that. But i would think ahead, because i was in your same situtation and didnt think i was going to go any further than a couple mod's, and now i'm getting ready to drop a 3076 turbo kit into my car. And i've only had the car since Early march Believe me, modifiying your car gets ADDICTING!! So if you arent sure if you are going to go further than a few mod's i would re-think about what you are wanting to get. I'm just trying to save you some time and help you get the mod's that may help you in the future. For example, i bought a short-ram, downpipe, turbo manifold, turbo outlet, and now i am getting a turbo kit that has ALL of that included with it. So i pretty much wasted money. Hope this helped.

I know cat back will be around 500. I was saying save me 3-400 from a full turbo back system thats anywhere from 8-900.

Im super new to boosted cars so I dont know alot. With boost controler will I need to modify under the hood to get more then the stock 19psi? Whats the stock turbo capable of boosting to?

a turbo back is worth it - min 10 extra horses
and if you want to hear the aftermarket bov more than you need an intake
arc is your best bet

I just want to tell you before you get hammered hard to please do a search before you ask questions like this, you will find more threads then you could read in a weak on bov so do what the rules tell you to. By the way dont get a bov till you need it when the other leaks and recirc. is the only way to go, just do a search to find more.
