wtf! defi boost guage way off

I have a Defi boost guage and when I got it, I had my hallman MBC installed at the same time... while I thought for weeks my MBC was the cause of all my problems I found out later my boost guage was reading about 8PSI off..

When I had my car dynoed at Pruven they were getting different readings off there boost guage.

Wtf.. It seems all my connections are right and the guage itself is the only thing reading wrong is there any way to fix this or should I chuck and go with another guage and if I do would another Defi be ok because I got a Defi EGT and I want both the same.

Anyone else have this problem with there boost guages?

It is the Defi D.. so it must be a known issue.

Make sure you are tapping off of the line next to the fuel pressure regulator line rather than the fuel pressure line itself. Also do not use the vacuum line that goes to your BOV. Give that a try first and tell us what happens.

ohh ok.. ill try to take a look at that.. thanks for the advice, I just didn't think about the installation because people told me the installation is right just might be the guage itself.

I've the Defi-D? Last time I checked it was accurate although I have no real way to test it. Perhaps I could run a log with the UTEC or somthing?

Somehow 600 bucks for a boost gauge just doesn't interest me, plus they wern't even in production when I bought my car. I'll probally just end up buying a Zeitronix or somthing and do it all in one.

Zeitronix also depends on the MAP sensor you use, right? Does anyone have good result with GM's 3Bar MAP sensor?

I have a Defi boost gauge and it's fine. What you should have done was make sure that the gauge reads zero when you got it, if not then it's defective. Since it is mechanical, it will read zero even without power. Also you should have installed the gauge alone before anything else, which is what I did. This way you can see what your car runs stock. If the boost is off then it's the gauge. You can't really blame anything else since it would be the only mod on your car.
