its probably the intake, did you get a tune? you're probably better off just keeping the stock air box.

Seems like your hitting the fuel or boost cut. Most aftermarket intakes will cause the MAF to read high. You need to get a retune for your intake or atleast a AFC. The smell of fuel is most likely because your running rich as hell because of the intake.

Check to make sure your maf is plugged in. Sounds like it's not.

Burnt smell doesn't sound like anything good. Take the intake off and take your car to the dealer to have it checked out, then if nothing is wrong put it back on and get a tune.

naw...it ain't my clutch...how can it?...car still runs great...i'll try putting the stock box on there and see if things go back to normal...it does, i prolly need a tune...but the thing i'm wonderin about is what is it that prevents it to not past 4k????....it's not bottoming out...it feels like speed is jus holdin steady, but if i push it the car vibrates and some burnin smell comes...but thanks for the imput guys...how can i learn to tune? (is there any books on it or a web site that will tell all about cam/ignition timing, fuel, and a/f)....and is it me or are we all losing boost over time? (still boostin at 3k)....or are we jus gettin used to the power of the Evolution =)???

ya i have heard a lot of problems with intakes and no tune, you need to get it tuned it will help correct the error, and plus the stock one is pretty much what everyone keeps telling me to keep

not matter what u go to tune with its gonna cost a hundred or two. do it right or u'll regret it. do a flash its simple and worth the money. turbotrix.com or dynoflash.com both offer really great flashes.
