Pls help, I'm getting hiccup!!
Pls help, I'm getting hiccup!!
I have recently gotten my evo6 and have the following mods:
- walbro pump (idle fuel press is at 3 bar/at 0.0bar of boost it is at 3.5bar/at 1bar of boost it is at 4.9bar)
- exhaust
- hydra
- avc-r
- evo7 standard coils
- NGK Iridium no. 8 plugs
The car was tuned at 1.5 bar 2 wks ago without any problems. But the day the tuner went back I started to get some hiccup as I run boost 1.3 bar upwards (below 1.2 bar the car runs fine). This is not a very bad hiccup but I think it is blowing out the spark and I get this around 2-3 times as I go up the rpm range. The day my tuner left I was trying a couple of pulls in 1st gear but the car hiccuped quite bad and I later noticed that the tank was almost empty (no fuel)
I'm not sure if this did some damage to the engine so it's causing this hiccup problem or not.
Here's what I've done to try to fix the problem:
- changed spark plugs to NGK no. 9 and Greddy no. 7 (gapped down)
- adjusted dwell from normally 3.04ms to 5.08-6.5ms
- changed to evo7 coils as my previous evo6 coils was damaged (somewhat melted) when I got the car.
- advanced some timing (because where I am the fuel quality is bad and ign seem to be a bit retarded at high boost)
None of these seem to work and I'm now out of ideas on where to look.
Appreciate your help on this thank you
