td06-20g vs td05-20g

Any folks can comment between these two setups? Any dyno charts or experiences to share?

I had a weird td05 20g setup on my galant. It had the smaller td05 to help spool, but a larger 8cm exhaust housing that was ported to help top end power. It sounds like a stupid setup but it worked really well. I ran 117mph trap speed with tiny 550 injectors, a vpc, and race gas. My car also weighed about 3600 with me in it so it was a tank, but back then I couldn't be happier. The turbo had slight compressor surge in 4th and 5th gear at low RPMs when you floored it but it was not bad at all. Back in 96-97 when I was only 17 or 18 there were 5 galants or so that were faster in the country so I was very pleased. I think I was in the 425hp range. However your results should be very different if you are planning to mate this to evo housings.

Are you talking about the buschur modified turbos? In my experiences with cars equipped with 20g turbos, the td06 feels like a bigger turbo then the tdo5. It has a more linear power curve towards redline, the td05 felk like the stock turbo with a little more lag but had the "kick your ***" punch as soon as it spooled and felt somewhat flat towards the top. It seems to me that the new evo9 turbo can make 20g power with excellent spool characteristics and no drop off in boost at high RPM. Personally I would not go with the modded stock to 20g setup because of the surging issues, for me the EVO is too nice of a car to have this sort of downfall.
