EGTs in Cold Weather?

Situation:
Stock evo 8 with Forge Unos boost controller was installed couple months ago and set to 21 psi. Until recently I had to remove it due to drop in cold weather, I was not able to keep the boost down (even with low boost spring installed). So I returned to the stock lines and boost control solenoid, car is completly back to stock now. Boost running as requested. Little spike, fall back to 20-21psi and taper to 16 at redline.

Problem:
Weather has been very cold here in Buffalo NY, around 20-30F or lower and my EGTs are reaching an all time high on 3rd and 4th gear pulls peaks of : 1700-1750F EGT probe is installed on the 2nd exhaust runner from the pass side, Defi BF series gauge. This is a conern to me as from my understanding I should not see temps over 1600-1650 at most correct?

Thoughts:
Could the cold air being soo dense that the car is running lean? (should I upgrade the fuel pump?)
Is there a leak in the system somewhere causing the turbo to try run more/reach requested boost levels, leading to a higher EGT? (will pressure test later this week to be certain when it warms up a bit )

Your thoughts or experiences are appreciated. Thanks

Jeller

what other mods do you have and do you know how much hp you're making? You could be out running the stock fuel pump.

stock pump should be fine for just a boost controller tapering down like yours does. If you trust your EGT gauge, you're running lean, and need either an SAFC or flash. I'm suprised you didn't hit boost cut when the weather turned cooler.

I did when weather first changed with the MBC installed, and once when it was on the stock set up. Scared the **** out of me at first Thanks for the Info.
