Buzzing/Vibration from powertrain.

Hey guys, I've done a search and didn't get results that really helped me.

I have an issue with a buzzing/rattling that starts close to 4 grand. Searches have returned a variety of things but nothing too specific. Here is some information and what we've done to trace the problem.

1-Listening to the noise with the car up in the air, it sounds like its coming from the timing area on the exhaust side of the engine or the trans/transfer case. Maybe the noise is happening someplace and traveling throughout the power train. The noise does not occur until just above 4 grand. It does it in nuetral or in any of the driving gears. You can feel a sensation in the floor of the car when it does it. It feels and sounds somewhat similar to when I have valve lift in the Corolla XRS. (just that this is bad heh).
2-This has happened since replacement of the timing belt. When the covers are pulled and I line up the timing marks, everything is where it should be including the balance shafts. The balance shaft belt was not replaced, nor its tensioner. The timing belt idler pulley was not replaced either. The idler pulley seemed to spin perfectly fine when we had the belt off, and the balance shaft belt will be replaced very soon along with its tensioner. Tightening the timing belt tensioner took away some of the problem but I don't know if it can be tightened any more without making it too tight. The valves aren't bent and compression is good in all the cylinders
3-When the engine mount was removed and the engine was supported with a jack, the downpipe was accidently allowed to rest on one of the chassis cross-bars. The heat shield was removed and I took out the small dent in it. The noise is still there
4-The engine mounts have been checked and they appear ok. I had a suspicion that with the one off, I might have put too much stress on one of the others.
5-No CEL
6-Engine,diff,and trans fluids are right where they're supposed to be.
7-It will do it with the drive belt removed.

Any ideas or advice on what should be checked or pursued?
