i was thinking, is it possible to run a 2.3l stroker w/gt35r, cams, injectors, the works, with a piggyback and stock ecu? i dont plan on doing this but i was just curious to see if it would work

It "could" work, but to make it work wouldnt be worth it. Run an AEM or Motec and the car would run better, for cheaper and you can fine tune the car as well.

yeah, i would definitely go that route, but it was bugging me a little. some background on why i thought this up: i was talking with gruppe-s about buying back my NIB AEM EMS, since the USB one is due out sometime next year, and they were talking about how they are kind of straying away from selling them since they have a new ECU tuning program. obviously it would work for minor/moderate bolt on apps, but for stroker kits, etc... how far can the stock ecu take you? i should have re-worded the original question

It could work, but you will DEFINITELY be leaving power on the table and may not have the kind of control that would ensure a safe, reliable tune that makes a lot of power without blowing your engine. But there's no reason it wouldn't work, but it would totally be Russian Roulette.

Not to sound like a Vishnu fanboy, but I don't think I can say this without sounding like one...

Xede cars make safe, reliable, repeatable power with a piggyback and large turbo/stroker combinations.
