Very smart move. Remember that you need a new lower IC and all the associated coolant lines and such that changed with the new turbo. Don't forget you can add the JDM MR DV, too.

Hi Warrtalon,
The metal BOV is installed already. Having not seen a IX yet, could you elaborate further on exactly what is needed for the turbo swap?

Actually, I don't know the full details first-hand. I just read what Buschur said in his threads regarding the 20g-IX, which requires the same additional parts that you would need with a stock IX turbo (i.e. new LICP, new coolant lines). I don't know the specifics, so all I can do is 1) point you to search for Buschur's threads regarding the 20g-IX, or 2) point you to calling Buschur directly and finding out directly from the source.

Nah, walkedu, I don't have one, but it is something I will most likely do once others have already done it and proven that the MIVEC is only 5% of the IX's power equation. If it lags on the VIII, then I might not do it, but if it still spools early with broader/higher power than an VIII turbo with the same mods, then I'll do it at the end of next year in preparation for the 2007 racing season. This season, I'll be happy with my stock 05 turbo that has been ported/coated along with my other stock exhaust components.

There probably aren't that many 9s out there yet, your best bet would be a performance shop that is testing/upgrading an EVO9 and/or Mitsubishi themselves ...
