At the dealership. $1700. I don't know anything about it being titanium, though.

No, I prefer not to spend any money on mods if I can help it. I won't be getting one of these until one falls in my lap. With as many people who are waiting to get one, they will have to become much more common for me to get one at a rock-bottom price. I'm hoping to get lucky with a local who doesn't know any better and upgrades their IX turbo with some big turbo and doesn't know what to do with the old one. That's how I got my stock 10.5/o2/mani for porting/coating. I got the set from a local shop whose recent customer just left the parts there after a turbo upgrade. Amazing really...

Good idea Warrtalon. I was thinking of the same thing. I think we need a new LICP also, as the turbo inlets are different sizes. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I can get them for $1100+ tax. But I dont know if its worth it or not when you can get a 20-9 I think for that much.

Need a new LICP and new oil/water lines I believe. I haven't heard of the inlet being a different size, but maybe.

Riverside, $1100 might be fine, because not everyone will want a 20g-IX. Many may just want the regular IX turbo.

$1100.00 I may have to buy one of those if he can really sell it for that much. All this mandatory robbery overtime, I ought to treat myself!

Quick question, haven't been on the forum's as of late.

When you guys state that you will need new oil/water lines and a LICP, what if I already have a aftermarket intercooler and piping? Will I still need to get a new LICP?

Thanks

Yes, the piping you have is designed to mate to the VIII compressor outlet, so you will not only need an LICP that mates to a IX turbo, but also one that mates to the IX turbo AND whatever FMIC you have. The oil/water lines can be bought direct from Mitsu, or at least that's what Buschur is doing with the 20g-IXs he's selling. Unfortunately, he had a little trouble trying to get all of them at once, so they may not be the type of thing that is always in stock.

Its not titanium, the compressor housing is made of magnesium.

The TME turbo is basically a 2005 EVO turbo only the main shaft and wheels are made of titanium-aluminide, making it lighter and able to spool faster. The compressor housing and turbine housing are identical to that of a 2005 stock turbo.

The EVO9 turbo is the same as the 2005 EXCEPT the compressor housing is different, its bigger and made of magnesium.

The compressor housing is still aluminium.

The compressor wheel is made of magnesium, GT/RS models only (GSR option).
