How much boost can the car handle?

So, I just got my evolution 8 on Tues (20th) and was wondering how much boost can it handle? And how much boost can the turbo produce? Not that Im going to get a controller and just crank it up, just questions and there will probably be more to follow. Thanks

Matt

Think about it. YOu just got your Evo and have all these questions. Now, think about the thousands of others who got their Evo and had tons of questions just like you. They have all come here already and asked these same questions thousands of times. You can find these answer and probably all the answers to all your future questions with a quick search.

For your own good, I don't even want to tell you how much boost the car can handle. Why would you ask if you don't plan on doing it after the fact? There's a lot more involved than us just giving you a number and leaving it at that. It depends on the octane, the mods, the turbo itself, the altitude, the weather, the humidity, etc etc.

Saying that you suck at searching is no excuse for doing this. You have to do the work and learn to search. We aren't going to do all the work for you, and it's REQUIRED by the rules of this forum. You should read those first...

What you run on a daily basis does not answer the question anyway.

22 is not a bit high... you have an 05 you should know.. unless you screwed with the car and it runs lower, or you have something wrong..

Maybe not, but at least I gave him an answer and now he also knows that my car can handle 22 pounds on a daily driver.

Search for boost, octane, knock.

Others have melted engines with 19psi using bad gas.
