I use the old Profec B on my Talon. Just wondering what you guys like. I was looking at getting the Profec Type-S for the Evo later on. Give me you likes and dislikes with the popular brands out there.

There is an article from the Turbomagazine in which they test a few electronic boost controllers.

They say that the Profec B is actually one of the best and also the most affordable.

There is another EBC very affordable and simple which is the HKS EBC EZ, but it lacks of functions, very very simple.

The main difference between the old Profec B and the newer one are the dials, the old ones are black and the new ones are silver. They are around the same price.

You can't go wrong with the Profec B. Also, send a PM to Edwin, he has a EBC from Blitz(I think).

Abner(Slowcar) has a turbosmart also, he might want to sell it. I use to have a electronic boost controller ages ago(back in 1995 in a Plymouth Laser RS turbo), it worked very well, it had LED and it had 3 modes, low mid and high and it also had a quick tunning knob.

As per Mnaul Boost controllers I have tried at least 6 of them, I found the Greddy TVVC to be one of the best if not the best BOOST controller in the market but of course this can be arguable..

Last but not least, if you live in a area likeme were the temp can be hot as hell during the day and cold as $uck at night I definately suggest you get a EBC for the simple fact that the boost vary a good 2-3psi making the EBC first choice over the MBC specially the ones that are mounted in the engine bay.

Forge Motorsport MBC! Honestly no need for EBCs on an Evo, SRT4 yes so that u can preset boost for every gear where u have traction issues! I prefer this just to keep wireing to a minamum

I have the Xede smart setup, and the Xede could only get me 17psi then fall to 14psi from the stock turbo. I had a MBC from AMS and it could produce 23psi then fall to 16. My 2.3ltr with ported head doesn't help, but 17psi is way too little. The MBC is a band aid, but I'm looking for something that will make some boost until I get a nice turbo setup on it.

I had the old profec b on my turbo integra, that is a great ebc. It was simple and provided rock solid boost. My only dislike on the old profec was that the boost solenoid box was huge.

I am now running a profec b spec II on my evo and love it. I am running 22lbs rock solid on my pump gas map and 30lbs rock solid on my race gas map(turbotrix bb50trim and 44mm tial wg). My friend Chris(826whp blk ams evo) is also using this ebc on his setup. It took awhile to get the profec b spec II set though. It has a lot of mixed reviews on this board, but I know for a fact that it works for me and my friend Chris on our setups.

A buddy of mine as well as a few others tried the greddy type-s, which is similar to the old profec b and he was having problems running more than 20lbs of boost with all the knobs maxed out as well as boost oscillations. He sent it back to greddy and it took months for him to receive it back.

Good luck to you bro.
