GT35R vs 50Trim vs 30R

Ive done some searching on this but here goes...If im not planning on a stroker motor, alcohol injection, N20, or running over 500hp...which turbo would work better for me? Ive heard the dual BB 50trim can attain 450 on race gas with a great tune...will a 35R reach that on pump? Im trying to decide which turbo to get to attain my goal of about 425/450hp. Thanks for any input. I nkow the spoolup will be much better with the dualBB, thats why its the one I have on order now but Im thinking it might not get me where I want to go...I dont autocross or road race, just drag race and the occasional closed freeway pull. Also, the price difference is only 200 bucks.

Big turbos dont shine until they are at high boost. You are better off with a 50trim. It can easily make the hp numbers you are after. The gt35r will just add lag to the equation.

there is not proof that the 20g9 can support those numbers, so far it sounds like a 50 trim like the one turbo trix offers is your best bet.

i was at turbo trix and they had a 50 trim that had hit over 420 on pump gas at the wheels with a spool time i think around 3800.

If all this is true get the 50trim. way more power on pump than a 20G.

I went with the dualBB version to spool faster and I believe I had read they can be more reliable/longer lasting...any truth to this? Ive read faster spooling from 200-500rpms earlier with the BB which seemed like a good amount to me.

I actually went with the RNR kit, they are having a winter sale on their turbo kits so I saved quite a bit compared to their regular pricing. As far as the 3037, from what ive found the dualbb 50 trim seems like the better turbo when 450hp is your goal.

50 trims can make well in excess of 400whp on pump. Proven many times. Wont make near as much on race gas as a Gt35R however spool on a 50 trim BB is going to be impressive.

I don't agree. 30R is superior IMO.

Are you talking about a 3071R or 3076R? Im not 100% locked into the 50trim yet so Id like some more info besides an opinion. Here is some info I have found..The 50trim is larger that the 3071 and will flow 49lbs of air, the 71R a bit less than that. The 76 will flow 52 pounds of air and the 35R 62 pounds. The 50trim spools up around 4000 when no-ball bearing but about 200-400rpm sooner when dualbb, Ive seen more say 400rpm sooner, RNR sells both and they claim a 400rpm quicker spool. Also, RNR made 389hp at 21psi on 91 and 423hp on 93 without alcohol injection. So it seems it spools faster than the 3071 and makes more power... it can make almost as much HP as the 3076 but with faster spoolup and for a pump gas turbo I think the 50trim is better, if your going to run race gas all the time or alcohol then maybe the 3076 would work better for you. One more thing,a TurboTrix customer, REZ90, made 480hp with the 50trim although I dont know the supporting mods. Also, a 3037 is capable of about 520hp, the 50trim about 490hp(good tune, race gas) but faster spool and me running pump gas on a daily basis in my mind make the 50trim better. If any of this is wrong, someone correct me, a turbo isnt cheap and I dont want to buy the wrong one.

A 50 trim will not spool up as fast as a GT3071. The 50 trim uses a bigger turbine and compressor wheel. It should spool up roughly the same as 52lb GT3076 w/ a BB CHRA. The 50 trim only has a 1 mm bigger inducer then a GT3071. So basically a 50 trim BB gives you all the lag of a GT3076 w/ the power of GT3071.

Also, the TT 50 trim is an Innovative turbo and they don't advertise its specs. I have a feeling that it's different from the Presicion unit.
