wierd problem...help?

So, recently my car developed an issue. Not everytime, but sometimes when I kick in the clutch and start breaking to slow down, the RPM's will drop to idle as expected, but then keep dropping. Sometimes the car drops to 300-ish and then kicks back up to idle and a couple times it's just died! Kinda freaked me out the first time it happened, since power steering just dissapeared all of a sudden.

The car seems to bog (if you could call it that) when I kick in the clutch after accelerating. Accelerate > clutch in > breaks on > car bogs and dies...

any ideas? alternator? tune?

Idle air control vavle? Sat in it at idle, turned on AC, RPM's dropped and rose again.....so the IAC valve is good?

have you checked all your air lines for leaks,if they are all ok, check your dump valve. my five was doing the same thing with the hks ssqv as soon as i replaced it with an uprated forge recirc valve she ran like a dream.if your running a vta dump valve you will often get idle problems because of the maf sensor.if it is the dump valve causing the problem and you still want the noise then you have to look at either hks eids or an after market ecu that lets you remove the maf sensor and replace it with a map sensor,ie pfc d-jetro.

sorry forgot to add one other solution. aps and maybe some other manufacturers do a dual stage dump valve which recircs at low boost and vta's at high boost pressure.little bit of the best of both.

make sure your not running vta, i had that problem and fixed it by recirculating the bov. If your already recirculating, try adjusting the idle screw to up your idle up higher on the throttle body.

I think the MR BOV can only run recirc. I'll try adjusting the idle and see if that helps. Any idea what a good idle would be?

when this happens, is it right after you lift off the gas? How high do you take the rpm's before you clutch in?

Yeah, it's right after I lift off the gas...the rpms just keep falling past idle. I don't take the rpms that high...no more than normal driving.

First off, check to see if the vacuum line that attaches to the top of your BOV is on. If it is check to make sure that line is still attached to a vacuum source.

If everything is connected, then install the stock BOV. Some MR Valves come w/ real stiff springs that won't allow the valve to open in vacuum conditions. Do you get slight surge on part throttle lift off?
