What would you do? "building motor"

Ok well a month ago or so my car started grinding during higher rpm's... After pulling the oil pan I noticed it was full of shavings... Long story short, I spun a rod bearing and a main bearing. The good news is there was no damage to the block or crank. So now I have a fully bare block, and I need to rebuild it. I am sending it to a machine shop to have it fluxed, hot tanked, and honed and maybe bored .02 just to be safe, I am also goin to have the shop assemble the block. My question to you guy's is would you upgrade your piston's and rod's? I already have a stage 3 head, and I plan to run a 50 trim in the future. I have already purchased clevite bearings and will be purchasing all arp studs and replacing the timing belt as well as removing the balance shaft... So What I am asking is, what would your setup look like? What products would you use and why? Any other things you would upgrade?

You should either go with the AMS 2.3L stroker or the Buschur 2.3L stroker. IMO, you should go with Buschur! Good luck, and have fun while you're at it!

Why is it necessary for stroker kit. Can the normal 2.0 liter motor not make power?

Yes and Chris's EVO made more power than the shop car

Plus the tuning on Chris's car isn't done yet

Look at Ams website and take a look at what they have to offer as far as the rods go for pistons you should go ross all the way i know about 25 people that run ross pistons and they have nothing but good things to say about it.

I find it odd that you spun two bearings and there is NO damage to the crank. Anyhow, i would look at what kind of power you plan to get out of the car. Do you want low end power or higher revving top end power. I would at the minimum put some good rods and pistons in there. Good luck with the build and keep us posted on the progress.
