I will look into the White Rabbit some more but what about the 20G.

Will the surging with the 20G be bad with the 2.3?

Will I need to start looking at injectors bigger then stock?

Apparently, the 20g-9 does not surge. That or the WR might be a good upgrade for cheap.

More than likley you'll need some bigger injectors.

The 20g-9 might do the trick, but I'd call Buschur on that one. I do not know if they've run it on a 2.3l yet.

Of course you could also go with a small GT series turbo ... I hear a 3071/2.3l combo is pretty devastating ... Ultimately it will boil down to how much $$$ you want to spend and what kind of results you're looking for.

With a bigger turbo you will definitely need bigger injectors. Even with the stock turbo on a 2.3, I'd probably go with slightly larger injectors (660-680 cc), since you will be pushing the stock snail to its absolute limit, which is pretty much where the stock injectors also start maxing out.

The stock turbo on the 2.0 EVO's is larger than the stock turbo on the 2.5 STi's, so if I was sticking with the stock turbo I would look at the EVO's stock boost curve (aprox 20.5 down to 16.5), and the STi's stock boost curve (Max boost 14.5 psi) and split the difference between them to get peak at 18 and taper down to 15.5 (if I was being conservative). Less conservative would be to peak at 20 psi and drop down to 16, but that would be pushing the stock turbo pretty hard.

Like many have said, I would strongly recommend a larger turbo. The factory OEM turbo is perfectly matched to the 2.0L engine and a larger displacement will make it spin up rediculously fast with even less top end power than it has now (imo).

I talked to AL about my flash and he told me that I would have to get a custom tune with the 2.3L stroker. He doesnt have a mail in flash for the stroker.

I am also going to do the same thing. Tuning it so that the turbo doesn't work hard should be relatively easy to do. The torque you will generate should be ridiculous and easily over 400wtq.

It's a sleeper look! Everything stock except the stroker kit inside. It should bust a lot of ***** and easily be a mid-11sec car.

Hi,

A 2.3 motor with stock turbo will be great for daily driving but not for any top end power since the turbo will run out of air with the increase displacement. Also, you will want at least 720cc injectors to compensate for the increase air flow. We have the Helix Denso injectors for a great deal only $365 shipped.

As for the tune, you can get a reflash to run the stroker.

Thanks,
Tom
