His sales would dry up otherwise...

What do ye Evo men say?

I dont know about that one, but you can get the one from Megan Racing for that price. Just dont buy the ssautochrome header, we installed 4 Megan Racing headers with no problems, but the only ssauthochrome I installed just broke after 2 months. They look similar but apparently the quality its not the same.

I don't know man, I think Buschur could survive even if they never ported another stock manifold again. They have plenty of other products and services to keep them afloat.

What I intended to say is that they would loose sales where people would buy tubular manifolds over cast ones. I'd rather spend money elsewhere; like with: AMS

Are you saying David gave false results on his dyno test's to sell more port-jobs?

One thing I have to say about David from meeting him a few times, is that he may be very blunt, but he is in the business for all the right reason's not just to make money.

I'm just saying he like everyone else is a "businessman"

This, the SSAUTOCHROME and others are not worth even their small price tag.

Even Greddy and APEXI headers seem to fall apart with longterm use. The knock off ebay parts that are there just do not hold up to the test of time. They are made with thinner than acceptable and poor quality materials. The HKS knock off BOV shown in the same page was proven in Modified Magazine that Im looking at right now, to leak after 10 psi and not operate properly.

There are dozens of posts and even two guys who had these manifolds that cracked around the entire circumference of the collect, right before the turbo.

Just a bit of fact....cast iron manifolds are much more resiliant than stainless tube style headers. In order to counteract the negative effects of 1600 degree exhaust trying to eat through the metal, companies like Buschur Racing port out the stock manifolds with great results. AMS, Full Race, RnR, Shearer and so on and so forth make their manifolds out of super thick, extremely high quality and in some cases (Full Race Im sure of) FORGED steel tube.

Compare the 8 gauge thickness of any one of these to the SSAutochrome piece and you'll see why most of them cost 900-1500 dollars, instead of 200.

I am not knocking RnR, matter of fact Im a huge fan of their stuff. Even their manifolds here and there have cracked. Very very rare, from what Ive read, but it still can happen.

The amount of benefit you'd get from this piece is minimal. Read Dave Buschurs comparison from his ported stock manifold against the RnR and Full Race. The FR mani is the only one that had an increase over stock, marginally. A Ported stocker is cheaper, durable and more effective. Good luck!

BTW, SSAutochrome makes an identical copy of the AMS intercooler. Ive seen it in person, and as much as Id hate to say it, it looks nice and seems to work well.

Youd be better off taking that 200 bucks and buying a flash, fuel pump, injectors, an AFC, whatever....

you could not be further from the truth. Along with several other members we tested the SS autochrome piece and not only did it come nowhere near the AMS unit but it LOST HP over the stock IC core.

feldguy, thanks for the info. We have only had 1 manifold crack out of over 200 sold. I think that is as good as anything is going to get when it comes to tubular manifolds. Also we have several tests showing 30whp and 20ft lbs gains over the stocker.

We have tested a few of those ssauthochrome intercoolers on the dyno and we saw good gains, never seen a loss. And dont get me wrong, I own an AMS intercooler for my EVO including many other of your parts and think yours is simply the best on the market, and I even had more gain with it than the ssautochrome, but anyway there is a gain with that unit too, and they are very cheap compared to your excellent units.

I would only recommend your unit or Buschurs one, but for people that dont want to spent much, its an option. I can understand you arent happy with those cheap ic, but the truth is that there are some gains over the stock unit. As I said, the manifold is not good, but the ic is ok, not great, but ok.
