boost problem

ive talked to warralton and looked through out this forum to try to find my problem and i want to make this last post before i take my car to the dealership. i had injen intake with uicp and i noticed my car went slower when i look at the oem boost gauge it told me i was boosting 1 bar max then tapering to .8 bar. i take injen off install stock intake then take my car to local speedshop to see if there is any boost leakage they said no! and my car is still boosting 1 max do u think its my gauges and i just got used to the evos speed? or is there another problem...?

I still think something is wrong, but I can't figure it out from your explanation. I'd like to know exactly what that speed shop did to test the boost. It sounds like you're running base wastegate pressure, which would mean your stock boost lines were replaced with standard vaccuum lines instead of factory lines with the restrictor pills.

hey, I had the same problem with my intake a upper I/C pipe. What I read in a magazine though is that when the MAF reads that too much air is going to the engine, it atempts to lower the boost. I had this same problem with boosting only 1 bar. What I read was that you need a boost controller and then you will be fine. Thats the only thing I had to do with this.

No, the VIII ECU can't lower boost like that, but the IX ECU can...

make sure all your IC pipes are properly secured.. if you have a leak there, your boost will fall

put a boost controller on it and then do a simple boost leak test
