HKS Cams for the EVO IX

I was just flipping through the new issue of Turbo Magazine and saw HKS mivec cams (pg. 80). They were unveiled at the 2005 sema show. It doesnt say much about them but it looks like a great addition for Evo IX owners. It lists it as a kit, the cams come with a in-car controller to manipulate valve timing. I checked out HKS' website and found no info on them. Just thought I would pass on the info to the IX owners. Has anyone else saw any info on these; specs, release date, anything?

Seeing this makes me want mivec more and more. Just seeing the numbers the IX Evo's are putting down, I can only imagine what type of gains cams are going to make. I have 272's in my 05 and they made a tremendous difference. So I will sit back and wait to see how aftermarket cams perform in the mivec head.

Yeah, this has been mentioned a bunch of times. We're all eagerly awaiting the release of both the HKS cams and the MIVEC controller to see how well they work...

I did search before posting and came up with only a few threads, mostly asking if any are on the market. I didnt see anything specifically pretaining to the production and release of HKS mivec cams. I wouldnt have started the thread if I found several others already on the forum. Thought it would be useful to post what I saw.

No worries, I didn't tell you to search. There aren't threads about the production and release of HKS mivec cams, but there are many threads talking about the reference to HKS cams for the IX in Turbo Magazine. That's all. We all eagerly await the release of the cams (and the MIVEC controller)...

The cams made 380 horsepower to the engine at 1.5 bar of boost in the latest testing done by HKS Kansai to show how you can manipulate the intake cam timing, 3 different scenarios were shown of cam timing set at 100, 110 and 130 deg on the valve timing controller, zero is 110 for reference... This was shown on the new Option Japanese magazine recently...
