alright guys, quick question. would there be any HP changes after installing hallman MBC and findanza cam gears with the mods i have already ? because i do plan to add cams pretty soon just trying to figure out which ones i wanna go with. i hear 280s arent good for an everyday driver thats what i read and also dont get alot of power with a stock turbo. so maybe 264/272 combo would would do good with this set up. but main question is will i feel anything at all with the MBC and cam gears or just wait to install when i get cams. thanks for any info

 

Cam gears alone do nothing with installation alone when set at 0/0. You have to set them to a certain +/- along with proper tuning in order to move the powerband around. They will mostly be useful when you get your cams.

An MBC alone won't change power either in and of itself. It depends on where you set the boost and where the boost was previously. Typically, we raise the boost above stock peak boost AND it eliminates a lot of the factory boost taper. If you set it at 21psi, then I think you will feel a significant gain in power over your current stock boost. The main thing you need is a tune, though, because you have an Injen intake untuned...

 

i see i see, now what cams would you go with? for everyday driver? i was thinkin 280s but that might be abit harsh to drive everyday.

 

272's are perfect for daily driving if they're tuned correctly, I havent tried 280s

 

i guess a little more research will do me good before actually buying them. i recall hearing an 05 gsr had them with lil mods and mad some very good power.
