8-10 pounds in weight is better than zero pounds lighter. Also some people just want what seems to be the best of class, for status. Maybe 8-10 pounds mean more to them than the difference in cost. Why would some one buy a Ferrari F430 when they could buy a ZO6 for 1/3 of the price? They have similiar performance. Ti has more status appeal than Stainless...even mini-vans have SS exhaust systems. This is a wealthy persons rhyme and reason(or some one who wants to portray they have money)...they do it cause they want to. (I really do not care one way or the other, just playing devils advocate.)

Best to get a drop-in panel filter and use the stock box IMHO

My vote for brand of drop-in....HKS Super Hybrid 35$, change every 10K.
