installed twin plate clutch..cant get it in gear
After I installed the Exedy twin plate cerametallic clutch I am having a hard time getting it in gear in the morning when the engine is cold. I thought maybe the egnine is dead cold thats why im having this problem but today the needle on the engine temp gauge was close to the middle and the problem still exist. I have to play with it and bang it around for about 15 seconds to get it into 1st or reverse. Felt like a wall and refuses to go into gear. Once I start driving it for about 5 minutes it gets better but still a bit notchy....after 10 minutes then it starts to shift fine. Im using 80w-90 oil so do you think I need to warm up the oil first? I know the manual says to use 75w-90 so I dont think 80w-90 is that much different.
did you lube up the clutch fork and splines when you installed the twin plate? Do you have a shortshifter? Do you have a stainless clutch line? need more info. vicosity is very important in our trannies and I'm really not sure if 80-90 is good or bad. But I dont think that's the problem.

oh someone installed it for you? see this is why I do my own work
. Take it to the jackass that installed it. He will do it for free, if he doesn't I would make him wear 3 shoes, two on his feet and one in his A**! good luck.

you want to hear some weird stuff that happened. When I installed the twin plate my pedal was really close to the floor and the pedal travel was maybe only 4-5 inches. Very easy to drive cause you didnt have to do much leg work...just slightly lift and it grabs, barely any slipping. For me it works perfect cause you barely get any clutch slipping...just somehow grabs at the perfect spot. Last night I went to the shop to have my clutch pedal adjusted so it would have a longer throw....similar to stock height but shorter. On the way home I couldnt drive it properly and was slipping the clutch most of the time trying to find that one engagement point where it grabs...maybe im just not used to it. This morning when I got in the car the pedal was back down to the original spot before I took it to the shop. anyone know why it went back down to the original spot?
