Failing converters ?

Has anybody ever experienced a stock converter going bad on their modded EVO8 ? Are they pretty good at handling the abuse of a modded evo ?

So it's fair to say that the stock cat is a fairly solid unit.

How much do they usualy go for when ppl sell them.

The stock cat is a solid and very restrictive unit, the catalyst can prematurely be spent from contaminated gas or from various additives which will make the O2 sensor behind sence the change or be ruined itself too. You need a wideband to diagnose if this is the cause.

The easiest and cheapest fix, if you don't live in a liberal run state, would be to replace the worthless unit with a delete pipe and get a cel fix, and get a good bump in HP too.

if you have under 50,000 miles on you car( i think its 50,000) its under the emisions warranty which is a federal warranty and a free dealer fix( and they have to do it under federal law)

Do they make high flow cats or just test pipes for the evo ?
