Jon at TRE

Where are you????

I have e-mailed Jon twice and need some assistance.

I am posting this in hopes that some TRE customers can chime in. I am going to be changing out my clutch next week and while the car is down, I was thinking about sending in the tranny (maybe the t/c as well) to TRE for a 'freshing up'. What kind of turnaround time is there? I was trying to get the crate shipped for a Monday delivery so that my shop can remove the driveline and have it boxed up and ready to ship to TRE on Tuesday.

I just wish Jon would return my e-mails, or answer the phone. ( I know he rarely answers the phone, but I am getting desperate )

They are pretty much impossible to get in contact with. I suggest trying John Shepherd. His turnaround is fast and he is easy to get in touch with. I once waited 6 months on a TRE tranny for my old DSM.

Tough to get in touch with, impeccable work. Turnaround of less than 2 weeks. In what kind of time frame did your emails and calls happen? If it's been less than 2 hours, be patient. If it's been a week, then I can see your point.

It has been 2 days (3 including today). I am trying to be as patient as possible, but I am leaving on Tuesday (to go snowboarding in Tahoe), and wanted to get everything done while I am gone.

2 week turnaround is pretty good...... but I need him to contact me....

I will try to get ahold of him for you guys. If it matters I was down at his shop at 3am and Jon was still working on a trans. If you saw him work you would be amazed at how many tricks he has for building DSM/Evo trans.

Hey B,

Let me know when you have that pool table set up, I'll stop a little earlier and you we won't get in trouble for being out so late.

Jon returned my emails within 24 hrs. Always! Be patient, they have alot of work. I have purchased 2 transmissions from them and never any problems or complaints. Jon worked with me until I had it in correctly and he never treated me like I was a dumbass, even though it was my first time. I think he is one of the most professional techs I have ever dealt with and if I ever need another tranny fixed, I will always go to TRE! He even returned my email at 3am east coast time on a Sunday!!!!!

Ill let ya know the tranny is this summer. thats next.

Jon has my TC (LSD) and tranny (rebuild on '03) right now. I shipped to him last week, it arrived last friday and I believe he has the work done already. From phone conversations with him he is quite knowledgable and willing to spend a few minutes explaining things. Although he can be tough to reach, as long as you try calling a few times, you will eventually get in touch.

He did inform me has was hoping to implement some improvements come spring/summer.

Overall I am happy so far as he has done all the work he said he would in a timely manner and that to me is more important than getting back to my email or phone call.
