manifold question...there has to be an easier way?

most of the manifold write ups say that i need to unbold the downpipe so everything can wiggle a little bit...the problem is i wanna do the install myself to save some money and i dont have a jack to be able to do that... has any1 done the swap by just unbolting the manifold....i dont see why it shouldn't just come off, can some1 explain this a little more for me

thanks

No other way. You have to take the tension off the hotside to be able to pull the manifold (forward and up) off of the manifold studs. Just hope you don't break any hotside bolts in the process... Then you're gonna be buying a hotside too...

Air tools! No worries about breaking bolts. Unbolting the DP is actually quote simple too, only 2 bolts.

I actually pulled mine off without removing the downpipe and I put it back on the same way

Do tell... I've got an exhaust leak at the stock hotside and have to replace it with a new ported/coated hotside. I've been putting it off because the install is a pita especially when it's cold as **** outside...
