Dave Buschur makes an incredible short block....

If you arent into that, check out bulltetproofautomotive.com, they carry a link to some serious Tomei and Jun complete motors.....like the Tomei in the right trim is supposedly designed to carry almost 1000hp and comes with the vave cover and oil pan bolted on.

most tuner's sell their race blocks without a core as long as you pay extra for the core charge.

When you stroke it , you need bigger cams.I was shifting at 7000rpm with 272s, now Im shifting at 8000rpms with 280s.Check out Magnus, they have been doing it longer than anyone.Mine just got done on low boost street tune of 22psi,and the evo feels nothing like an EVO!! INSANE!!

Dam i had no idea thier were soo many options lol!! Thanks for all your responses.. and topnotchevo i bet that car of yours is a beast haha. Yea i just want to go with an engine builder that has been building evo motors for awhile..

I dont know if anyone has seen whats been going on Nasioc (subby site).. but it seems one of thier great engine builders crawford performance shafted some people.. seems he didnt measure the pistons befor putting them into some blocks.. and the pistons were to small and wore a grove into the cylinder wall. they called it the bobble head piston haha. and he wont replace the motors.. we are talking about 5, 6 thousand doller motors.

I just dont want to spend thousands of dollars and have some crap happen like that lol. but yeah ill keep researching and thanks for all your help guys!

Marco from Magnus makes a SERIOUS motor. However, there are cheaper options.

Buschurs 2.3 Stroker has been proven at 8500 revs if I am not mistaken

AMS makes as good a motor.

Dont know much about slowboy.

Im a reader......I have done little of it, but I try to keep my knowledge accurate so I can say I think I know what Im taking about.

Buy a Buschur 2.3 and keep the rev limiter at 8000 if not a little less. No need for more on a well picked turbo setup.

Buy the entire package, a Stage 3 ported head and the top option or "Stage 3" as everyone refers to it.

Important things....Mitsu head gaskets apparently work s well if not the best. ARP hardware throughout. Crower rods, Buschur JE pistons as he designed and produces them.

Stock cranks are great. They work very well, but I talked to a guy at Eagle who says he'll have forged crank shafts out pretty soon for the Evo.

2.25 litres is the outcome, 2.3 being the roundup.

Rc developments had Crower produce a 2.3 and change litre motor....but that is ungodly expensive and the power holding power....well, the dollar amount just isnt worth it.

Just for the stroker kit it'd be about 5k, plus assembly and machining...would cost you as much as the Tomei or Jun. Let me show you what Japanese engines are available on import basis:

Those are all painfully expensive. Shipping costs....installation...you name it and its gonna add up quickly.

So, dollar for dollar, Buschur and AMS offer the two best deals on the market, BOTH being proven to stupid horsepower numbers.

Buschur just had the black drag car with a one-off GT45 turbo make 6XX horsepower on a first dyno pull, AMS has made what was it, 880? Thousand horsepower there....

RC Developments my A$$.

Merican's know how to do it. Happy shopping

I like Marco, talked to him many a time....and hes got some cool tricks with the piston coatings, I think titanium rods somewhere in there and yes, he's ben running a 2.4 for a LONG time in his Talon, but just switched back to a 2.0 or 2.1...or was that the other way around?

His long rod 2.4 and destroked 2.1's are something to be looked at also...

topnotchevo, what is the cost you wound up paying with what options?

I don't want to speak on AMS's behalf, but if I remember correctly their shop car is 2.0 setup and not a stroker. I will also assume that they are running straight c16 to run 40psi and I'm pretty sure they're not running alky.
