Ummm ugly compared to what? $250 Defi gauges? As far as Im concered they blow away the Autometers and Defi-D's in style. Both dont even compared to the SW at night. Another reason I like it so much, it looks better!!!!

I have the red light in my SW. Here is pic of the blue. Wow that is ugly

I too would be surprised if you had no knock @ 24psi on 93!
I dont see how thats relevant. My boost gauge is installed correctly. Yes the knock at 24psi was definitely not right

haha, I will pay 200 less for an accurate gauge that looks pretty good rather than spend 200 more on a gauge that is worthless, although hey it looks good!!

My D-gauge says my '05 hits 23psi bone stock. It also says im in slight vacuum when the engine is off.

No issues. The SW uses one of those plastic hoses as a boost line, however, since the Defi uses a vacuum line, instead of re-doing everything I just used the Defi's vaccum line by purchasing fitting that screws on the back of the SW that allows use of a vaccum line. 42DraftDesigns sells them for $6.

So install of the SW only took a couple minutes. Snipped the ground/power wires from the Defi and hooked up the SW ones.

22psi. When it gets really cold it will hit 23 but its so cold the car isnt knocking, but thats probably because of the below 30 degree temps.

When I rolled off the dyno it said I was running 24-25psi, which Al said was wrong. I actually didnt believe him and was scared my car was running to close to the edge of knock, but he assured me I was running 22-23max and my gauge was off. Im glad he was right!

I'm loving the inaccuracies of this thread!

P.S. - Remember the 05 Evo's peak and hold boost higher because of the bigger hotside housing ...

I know the feeling. When he pulled the car off pruvens dyno my gauge was reading 32 lbs...I was really running 26..now thats off!!

I cant wait to get these ported parts installed, I think the power increase is going to be substancial..

Im starting to think that way. Although my car is stock at the moment, so as long as I remember my D-gauge correction factor ill be ok.

Incidently, which model sw gauge did you get? Just curious.

Anyone notice similar problems stated in this thread on the Defi link series?

I had a Defi D boost gauge and a zeitronix dataloggin system in the VIII, and for the most part (99.8% of the time) the two gauge read the same. The only time they didn't read the same was at the boost spike, the Defi would go up to 1 psi higher then the zeitronix MAP sensor, but that was only at the spike. Even a mil a second after the spike the gauges would read the same. I think this happens because the needle just starts going movin fast and overshoots the exact psi a little.
