what caused the piston to go(or, what caused the detonation that caused it to go)?

I'd like to ask a stupid question. What defines a fully built motor?

I think it is defined as the engine having been completely disassembled, block/intake/exhaust modifications (port/polish/bore whatever), forged pistons, various other modded parts potentially added, and then rebuilt, hence the name "built motor".

this vs a modded motor which might have modified parts like turbos's/exhaust/downpipe/intercooler etc.

I know there aren't exact definitions, but maybe general definitions?

I think built usually means the internals. Forged or billet crank, rods, and pistons. Might include new springs, valves, retainers, and for some cars, pushrods. All the port, polishing, and stroking is usually just extra stuff that could be done.

Awesome build dude. If you blow the motor, might as well do the rebuild right with every single piece being aftermarket right? I envy you in the fact that you have a built motor, and also the fact that you have a silver evo.
