If one of those mods on the SRT-4 is a GT40, you have a long ways to go, unless you are racing at a track. Highway destruction for you sir.

well, i hope if someone buys a huge turbo they can outrun me on the interstate.....BUT, last i checked that's not any sort of sanctioned race.

we race at the track like men, from a dig. if i wanted to race from 40-140, i would have bought a supra

Oh yeah those GT40 SRT-4s are all over the place . It's the other way around. The SRT-4 has to catch up, the EVO has been putting out 600WHP examples for years, the SRT-4 just ran 10s like a week ago. Sorry but the SRT-4 is the one that has the catching up to do. If he builds his engine right and has great tuning and he was willing to push his car 650-700WHP is very possible. How many SRT-4s can hang, GT40 or not? The EVO makes more power, end of discussion.

SRT-4-Bag that's a new one , but I like skittles better

Sorry if it seems like I hate the SRT-4, which yeah I actually do, but respect needs to be given. The EVO and DSMs have been doing their thing for years, and the SRT-4 is the new kid on the block, and everytime it does something that others have been doing for years, people are like, see I told you the SRT-4 was bad ***, actually no, only thing it's proven is that it's capable of hanging. I am not saying SRT-4s running GT40s aren't a force and who knows they might one day terrorize the streets like GT35, GT37, and GT42 EVOs, but like I said the SRT-4 still has a ways to go, to catch up. Click this link for an example of needing to catch up-

Calm down man. I am not saying that the Srt-4 is the greatest thing that has happened to man. The guy said that someone had an Srt-4 with 10 grand into it. This could very well include an upgraded turbo, most commonly the GT40. So, if you can keep your eyes from rolling, you would understand that this isn't impossible. On a track, with similar #'s yes, an Evo will win the "man's race." In a top end battle the Srt-4 will most often win. I am not saying that the Srt-4 is the end all be all in performance, I am stating physics. The amount of drivetrain loss when compairing a fwd and awd is, I am pretty sure, around 14%. So, in order for the awd car to compensate for the drivetrain loss, it needs to make 14% more whp than the car with less power. You also need to take weight into consideration and what the power to pound ratio is.

I am not saying that I like the Srt-4, I am saying that in a pull, it has the advantage. Fwd's, aka wrong wheel drives suck at the track. All they do is spin the tires. You want to know who would win in a top end race just from track numbers, then compare the MPH at the end of the 1320. The person with the higher mph, will most often win in a pull.

I am a realist. I can look beyond that of what I hate just to hate. I don't like the Srt-4, but I am well aware of what it is capable of. Even the fact that the oil pumps sieze up after so much power. I am also well aware of what the 4g is capable of, I chose the Evo, just like you. I am a proud owner of an Evo.

I wasn't sure what kind of race you were talking about. Although it is illegal, some people still race on the highway. I also like the quarter mile, there is a lot more to it than 40 to 140. You need to take into consideration the human error along with the capabilites of the car. It makes for a more competitive sport. Highway pulls are good for people with deep pockets and little talent.

So, you are saying the most popular srt-bag turbo of choice just now got them into the 10s? And im pretty sure there isn't a 14% difference in drivetrain loss between the EVO and SRT....more like 5-7%.

Nope, I am saying that they can have a high mph. I highly doubt that they are in the tens. Most likely the mid elevens, if the oil pump holds up long enough for the engine to last. I am almost positive that the drivetrain loss is 14%. Nothing to get upset about. The evo is a way better car. Who wants a car with power windows in the front and crank in the back?

Lovely... even more competition for this year's heads-up bracket racing... eh, Jeff? Hope you got your reaction times down for this season... and hope to see you past the qualifying rounds.

BTW, I believe every single Evo from last year's top 8 brackets are no longer on their stock turbo... guess it'll make for an interesting season this year, lol. See you at the track buddy. =]
