Exedy Clutch Question

I have and Exedy twin plate setup. Had it in the car for about 3k miles, never really launched the car from a stop. My engagement from a stop was somewhat harsh. Went to the strip on Sat. night ran fine drove home fine. Sun. afternoon i go out and the engagement is a whole lot smoother than before. Should i have something to worry about??

No, I don't think you have anything to worry about. You probably warped the plates a bit which causes the engagement to not be as sudden. Sometimes warping the plates makes it smoother, and sometimes it has the opposite affect. When the surfaces are completely flat as they should be, engagement occurs very rapid since it contacts all at the same time. Did the point where the clutch starts to engage drop just a bit? If so, that is what it is. If the engagement went higher, that may be a little cause for concern.

It engages in the same spot only not as harsh, but i did notice that i had to take the pedal out for a little longer than before. It is one of the best for the money! If your looking to make alot of power and race alot off the whole then its perfect. Alot of people say the clutch is noisy, not at all it wont even chatter at all if u rev up enough to pull out of a light. I lost my stock cluth at 3k miles so i NEEDED this setup! ACT is also verry good, i had a 6 puck setup on my boosted integra, i had no complains whatsoever! Just went with Eedy cause everyone is using it.

The Exedy clutches are not very noisy. Try the Quartermaster clutch I am using... thats a noisy bastard.

Mine also is extremely aggressive.... it chatters alot and always did. You kinda need to mini-launch the car everytime to get it moving. Gridlock is a serious PITA. Oh well.. it holds.

How are you launching your car at the track? I revved up to about 4500 and rode it out a little best run with only intake and exauhst was a 13.2 @105 with a 2.0 60 FT. Not really used to AWD!!!!!!!
