Having taken out my air conditioning, there's a big empty space where the condensor used to be, between the front "pusher" fan and the radiator. The problem with this is that the air blown by the fan mostly leaks out the sides rather than going through the radiator. If I put out my hand over the gap when the fan is running I can feel the air just rushing out. A radiator cooling plate would help close this gap on the top but would do nothing for the air rushing out the sides and bottom. It's not a serious problem--with the condensor out of the way the cooling is bound to be better than before anyway. But the pusher fan isn't very effective in this situation.

What I'm curious about is, what's the front fan like on the JDM Evo 7/8 RS which comes with no A/C? Is there a different fan and/or shroud that sits closer to the radiator? (And if so, how do I get one?) Is there a front fan at all?

 

Good question..im curious as well... I think 03/04 RS is basically JDM RS but in LHD.. maybe someone w/ that model year RS can help answer this..

 

As far as I know, all USDM RS's came with A/C. There was a rumour that they wouldn't but when they finally hit the market, they did.

 

You dont need the other FAN when you pull the AC. The pusher is worthless. I beat mine alot and it never gets any hotter with just one fan (SPAL Slimline).
