Newbie Boost Question
Hello Everyone,
Long time car/performance enthusiast, n00b turbo guy. I apologize if these questions seem juvenile. After searching for some time now, I have not come up with any straight forward answers.
1. What are the dangers that I am looking at in running a EBC/MBC regarding long term / short term engine damage? The closest answer I found is too much boost = "Boom". But then I hear about people running 30+ psi...
2. What would be a good amount of boost to run in a stock IX?
I am fully aware that my warrantee goes out the door once I put a MBC/EBC on my car. Thanks in advance.

1) The danger is blowing the engine from running too much boost without the proper octane. Or, you can lift the head by stretching the stock head bolts if you run too much boost without adding head studs. People run 30psi, because they have the proper fuel (race gas or alky injection).
2) A stock IX should run stock boost.

Thanks alot Warr, I am just curious of the best mod options. The searching that I have done recommends a MBC along with a flash, and TBE. What mods are needed before the MBC? Thanks,
They are built by Al from Dynoflash based on custom road tunes and dyno tunes. You get a base map specified to those mods from extensive testing on other IXs. In addition to the fuel and timing tuning, you get:
- Raised rev limiter
- Removal of fuel cut
- Launch control at your choice of rpm
- Idle control
