500whp on stock drivetrain?

I need some opinions and feedback please. Im currently running 25psi on the 35R and it pulls really nice and a blast to drive. But I keep hearing at 28psi with the 35R the turbo really shines...im very tempted to crank up the boost. My only concern is my drivetrain is stock besides the Exedy twin clutch. I dont launch my car and only go at it once the car starts moving. How well will the stock drivetrain hold up if I dont launch it if im putting down close to 500whp?

You will be fine if your not launching it. You will probably be alright even if you ARE launching it.

I am pretty sure i saw that Al from DynoFlash had stock drivetrain for a long time with his 9 sec setup from last season. I know eventually it went though..

It will hold up fine. The clutch is the only part that takes any "shock" from the torque when driving and that clutch will do fine.

I would not just raise the boost, however, without a wideband tune watch your a/f ratio with....or a tuner tuning it on the dyno.

you should be fine! Norris Design had been using the stock RS drive train (with a new gear cluster) for ages now and has only just broke the rear diff! and thats with over 800bhp and lots of lauches and sprint work!

Chris.

What about internals? Is all the stock parts ok at that level? I know its suggested to replace pistons, rods, valves and what not. I guess my question is how long has everyone been driving their 35r with stock internals?

I think the internals are good up to 500 crank hp, however, I’m not sure about wheel-horsepower.

If I were you I’d replace the internals if I was attempting to get 500whp. Just to be safe.

I just got my car tuned at 29psi the other day...a huge difference in power. Sucker flies...we will have to see how well it holds up.

you guys must not have seen on NOPI when Rado and Efantis built 2 evos with bolt-ons(turbo kits included and stand alones)to race to promote NOPI. the cars made between 530 and 550whp on stock internals and only one of them blew up!

CRACK, SNAP , POP, Grinding grinding, hiss hiss, thats the sound it will be making, it will hold up for a little while, but 100 percent sure it will be toast over time, It does not matter how good you drive it.

yep.... I like the power.. I only max it out only a few times a month so we will see how well it holds up.
