feelings on a garrett 60-1
ive been looking at new turbos to do for later on in the summer and at the moment i run a precision 50trim. i was wondering what the general response is for a 60-1 turbo with a .60 a/r compersser housing and a .63 a/r hotside housing. i know someone who has a new one and will hold it for me until i have the money to upgrade. plus it will be cheap. i have a stroker so the lag will be less than stock displacement. anyone running this turbo? is it a good option? let me know what you think.

the 60-1 is a pretty good turbo on 2wd apps it has pushed over 600 whp depending on your compressor cover specs and turbine & housing a/r. boost threshold is about the same maybe a little worse than a 35R, but the 35R will beat it hands down in terms of transient response.

http://www.turbofast.com.au/img/to4-60-1.JPG this is the link to the compressor map. honestly i have no idea how to read one of these thats why im asking if this specific turbo would be a good choice to run on a evo with a good amount of boost running through it.

are you 4bolt or 5bolt and looking for just a bolt on? the presicion sc61 is the same as a garrent 60-1 except the precision is more update exhaust wheel and ported inlet.
in my opinion you should get the .70 instead of the .60 and t4 instead of t3 with your stroker kit.

Most people who say "just get a gt35r" have no idea what they are getting themselves into with that turbo, not that a 60-1 would be much different.
We're talking an EVO here, and you have a stroker! The GT35R would be more than ideal. It would spool faster than the 60-1 and provide more power. What more could you want?
I know I would never waste a dollar on a turbo that size that wasnt ball-bearing.

The cars themselves cost as low as $1000. It would make sense a $700 turbo is popular.
