i forgot which mag dyno tested those and they indeed did make power throughout the ENTIRE powerband, even low and mid range.

Comp Cams 272+ = Lift - 10.8mm Int / 10.2mm Exh
GSC 272- Lift - 10.6mm Int / 10.0mm Exh
HKS 272 Lift - 10.8mm Int / 10.2mm Exh
Tomei Poncam Lift - 10.7mm Int / 10.2mm Exh
XS Engineering racemax 272 EX 10.95 Int/ 10.35 Exh<------------

I'm wondering why nobody seems to be running the racemax cams...they have more lift than the usual GSC and HKS cams everyone runs. We'll see what happens when I install the XS cams.

do they require upgrading the valvetrain or are they a direct swap like HKS?

taken directly from the link posted above:

"These camshafts have just a little more lift than the popular HKS camshafts and the same duration. Operation below 7500rpm does not require valve springs or retainers as the factory valve springs and retainers are plenty strong to prevent valve float. However, if you plan on running your engine at sustained speeds in excess of 7500rpm for extended periods of time, we recommend installing the Crower valve springs and retainers."

I installed them a month ago and did some fiddling with ecutek....idle hasn't been fine tuned yet.....dont think it needs it as they idle great, but after just some minor adjustments the car feels great and these cams do indeed make very nice power early on till redline according to my butt dyno. I'll have to get on the dyno here soon to see what kinda gains I'm getting with these cams....
