any one use Clutch Masters stage 3
i've used CM stage 3 on my boosted honda's and love them. my evo's stock clutch is starting to go out after 29k miles, so i'm in the market for a new clutch. i looking for a clutch that can hold decent power and last for awhile, that's why i'm going towards carbon/kevlar. my goal is hit 350 whp (currently 320whp). i don't drag race much, even when i do i don't launch. i will be competing in some scca autox events this year. please give me feedback if you have used or currently using the CM stage 3 on an evo.
thanks,

what about this Unorthodox Racing stage 2 with kevlar. it's rated at 45% holding over stock and unsprung hub which means faster shifts and more reliable but a little harder on the drive train. it's listed at $960 which is way over my buget but i think i can get it for cheaper from a vendor.

How long have these guys been making clutches? They cut aluminum, they don't make clutches.
...and don't even get me started on Kevlar discs...
To address your previous post - why would ANY clutch 'explode'? Isn't that like, ya know, and big RED FLAG with a clutch company? Especially if the clutch was known for this happening?!
If you need a deal, give me a call... I'll get you a clutch that works.

what do you have against kevlar disk? please enlighten me.
i used the word "explode" to describe a catastrophic failure when $hit flying every where. any clutch can "explode", that's why pro race car requires a scatter shield.
i really want to hear from people who have actual experience with the CM stage3 and not from i've read this and that.

Kevlar discs are very inconsistent with wear and drivability because it has a very inconsistent coeffecient of friction. Many people expierence 'shudder' early on in the clutches life because the Kevlar will tend to warp even under normal circumstances.
As far as 'exploding' you DON'T hear about that with ACT or Exedy... PERIOD. Yes race cars require scatter shields, but that's usually because the Flywheel has the problem (Go figure, Aluminum flywheels aren't rated as high as ChomeMoly... ACT and Exedy us ChromeMoly flywheels). Also it's a safety precaution, they don't have scatter shields because they EXPECT their clutch/flywheel/tranny to explode.
It doesn't matter to me man - but I can see you are comming here asking questions and I am trying to point you in a direction that is proven and has worked time and time again for many, many people.
But suit yourself, it's not my car.
