front motor mount swap. look here. powerflex

Here is a write up done buy some one. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ight=powerflex

Now here is my addition to this. As you can see the the bolt from the factory is to small for the factory mount and the powerflex one.. why they did this im not sure, maybe to promote more movement.. but using this bolt bolt defeats the purpose of changing the mount. it allows the mount to move around in the bracket on the block..

The easier way to do this is find a sleeve that fits between the inside metal sleeve and around the bolt.. i didnt feel like going to the store to find one so i just drilled the bracket and used a bolt that fit inside the sleeve.. no more play, and a much bigger bolt to deal with movement..

this mount was easy to install, getting the old one out can be a pain, but took me 5 min. using an air chisel.. here are the pics to show the size diff. this mount is worth every dollar, and yes makes driving the evo alot better.. better shifting too..

factory on the left.

Looks good I thought about that and have a bolt to do it with but just have not done it yet. But looks very good.

I don't understand the larger bolt issue. The oem mount bolt hole and the powerflex one look identical. Does the oem and the powerflex mounts intentionally leave THAT MUCH play between the bolt and the metal insert sleeve in the mount?

this has already been discussed... the play is there for fitting. once you torque the bracket down to spec there is no movement as the bracket clamps the bushing and the bushing then bears all loads.
