sorry if this is a newbie question but the fact is im fairly new to the 4g63 turbo world...

i've just finished a 4g63 swap from an evo 8 into a 01 galant, running the STOCK ECU. (yes, i got the immobilizer to work!) there are still a few details here and there to finish but the car idles like it should. the motor was rebuilt due to the fact that the block was sold to me cracked.
anyhow, i've noticed that the exhaust smells really rich. could this be due to the fact that the rear 02 sensor has not be installed? i thought i read somewhere that it shouldnt affect the way the car runs? (the galant o2 is in there so there isnt a leak but it does not plug into the evo connector)

also, i am recirculating but it seems like the rpms still dip really low often and quite often stalls? i am planning on getting a flash from Al this weekend up in LA county to see if it helps.
