272's or 280's?

I have an intake, tbe, mbc, buschar fmic and piping, and i need your help. I have been scearching for 2 hours now and have not found anyfirm info. I would love to hear the comments from people who have HKS 272's or HKS 280's. 80% of my driving is done on the intersate so high rpm's are right up my alley. My car is 100% daliy driver. Please tell me which one I should go with and where I can find the best deal on a set shipped?

Thanks

Jason

Both will make great power but the newest trend seems to be the 280s and from what I have seen they look to be a great choice...look at comp cams as well...

I have the 272s and I feel for a daily driver they are the best choice, a perfect median of the 264 and 280s

Wouldn't you want the intake to be a 280 and the exhaust at 272. That way you will be pushing more air into the intake, instead of pushing it out into the exhaust . Of course this is just my theory.

Once you've tried the 280's you wouldn't want the 272's anymore... Cam timed correctly, the midrange grunt coupled with the top end is unbelievable...I picked up 25 hp more with the 280's in my T67 equipped stroker evo 6 at 22 psi alone...

The reason why he said 272 intake and 280 exhaust was because if it were 280/272 you would be sucking in more air but not enough to push out on the exhaust side. With the 272/280 you would be getting idle of the 272 and the power of the 280. I originally had the 272/264 and my car ran like **** and had the hardesty time idling! I swapped to straight 280s and she runs and idling 10 times better. Just my thoughts on the subject.

I swapped out my HKS 272's(which were very nice) in favor for Comp 280's and just love the power up top. Get 280's Jason.

So the rough idle of the 280's can be fixed with a flash or a tune just like the 272's?

on a side note.... w_thomas have you been to the dyno since you got your 280\'s?? If so what kind of increase did you get over the 272\'s??

Ok sounds like im getting 280's becasue i do plan on upgrading to a 20 g or a 50 trim in the near future and all of my driving is on the interstate. Any more comments are welcome. Now i just need to find the person closest to me to tune it. How ****ty is it going to run with 280's before i get it tunned?

I had mine untuned for about a week. I turned the idle screw up until my idle was about 1300 so it wouldnt stall if I pressed in the clutch really fast. It was really lopey before the tune. After my ECU learned it for a bit the lope smoothed some.
