I know that it looks ****ty,but my question is...Has anybody done it? I'm just wondering because it is not recirculating into the exhaust which leads to power "lost", maybe this way, even if it looks cheap, leads to power gains for people with stock or internal wastegated turbos.

It is a good theory above, but poorly executed. MIG welds are crappy, dump tube is crimped etc.

To make such a part would require some custom work and it seems as though the Evo market has quite a good aftermarket offering of 02 housings such as works, megan etc. If it was like the good ole DSM's, someone would have made a dumptube by now. FP, 122performance, victory and others made some good dump for DSM's. I wonder if the dump will reduce the boost taper, but I doubt it. That seems to be a turbo inherent problem!

I know guys with dsm's use something of that nature with an external dump on an internal gate, but that just looks plain ****ty!

it's crap..... not to mention you will always have loud a$$ exhaust gas coming out of it, not just when the wastegate is open. Unless they somehow sealed off the internal junction where the turbo exhaust and wastegate exhaust rejoin on a normal 02 housing.
