This 20G-9-5 TME of which you speak already exists. Its nomenclature is WR-9, which stands for, White Rabbit IX. It can be had by just calling Forced Performance in Texas.

There are a couple of guys on this list who run it and it is quite torquey. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 400+WHP/400+TQ on 93. It is configured with the 5-bladed White Rabbit/20G compressor wheel inside a IX compressor housing spun by a TiAl, "TME", turbine wheel inside the single flapper 10.5 turbine housing.

Well i think you will be waiting for a while as the TME turbine is smaller than the Green turbine so is pointless changing them over. As pointed out the FPGreen magic comes from the larger turbine. Best combination close to this is going to be a ball bearing core on the FPGreen - I know two people are having their Green rebuilt with a ball bearing core in the UK. It will be interesting to see if such configuration suffers from surge.

Yeah, this is right. The turbine wheel used in the LT is larger than the TME wheel. Hence the "magic" comes from the LT's higher inertia/lower backpressure turbine, whereas the TME turbine wheel is the opposite: lower inertia/higher backpressure. The magic is in the reduced backpressure afforded by the larger turbine wheel.

The British cousins are definitely fortunate to have access to the ballbearing centersection conversion technology. The BB cartridge should allow the LT to spoolup a tad sooner, but won't have any effect on peak power output. The garden variety journal bearinged LT doesn't spoolup that badly though. I went from a TME to the LT and there is only a couple hundred RPM difference in spoolup. In fact the difference can pretty much be negated by playing around with cam timing.

I don't think Forced Performance sells the WR-9 or 20G-9-5 TME. I did not see it on their website anymore all they have is the Evo Green just like everyone else. I'm sure they'd still build one upon request but it would have been nice to have seen a price upfront. Maybe I can find one in the used section.

FP will build you a WR-9. With the current popularity of the Green turbo they have their hands full. But they will build one upon request.

I remember reading early on that the Evo IX's that were sold overseas, came with the factory Magnesium Compressors and they were having failure issues. Does anybody know if these are the same turbos being resold? If not, I would seriously consider getting one.

If I remember correctly, they only fail if you push them past 21 psi

I was running the evo 9 turbo for a couple of months now. It was an awesome turbo with significant decrease in spool up time and spool up rpm over the 8. well, i finally swapped in the TME exahust blade. i did not have a scale, but i definatley felt the difference in my hand.
well, i was disappointed in the results. i think something might be wrong with the install, because i felt the car slower and spooled up later. i did a boost leak test, with not even a hiss. the boost was slowly dropping off, but i did not put the engine at TDC.

I am thinking that it might be the cartridge o-ring, but if it was bad, wouldn't i be hearing it during the boost leak test?

Answered my own question. Looks like Fasial came across some balance issues. I'll have mine back from Blouch the end of next week so I'll keep everyone posted

Took a while to get everything back and then off to the coaters. Little time for my own car when I need it I installed my new IX TME tonight. Let me just say that Mike and the gang from Blouch went above and beyond. Tuning will start soon as I'm babying it right now to break it in. Putting around town tonight I could instantly notice more power down low where I would have to downshift before. This was, again, just putting around granny shifting.

Only the Evo IX RS and GT were sold with the MgTi turbo, GSR has it as option..

The failed turbos are only from the 1st generation IX .. the subsequent series are fine .. you just need to know which series you're getting ..

In fact these turbos are what you guys refer to as the TME with IX turbo housing .. albeit with lighter compressor wheel too ..

The latest IX MR RS has the 155G and they are one of the fastest spooling turbos I've ever tested .. typically making around 350-370whp at 21 psi on pump ..
