As an autocrosser Im not impressed by the 20G on pump. The IX TME on the other hand looks very promising.

I may be wrong, but I thought I saw that just the Evo IX compressor housing would not fit on the Evo VIII and earlier center sections. My understanding was that they were different externally.

You have to have a Evo 9 center (bearing housing) to use the Evo 9 compressor cover. So it would NOT be a simple operation to make a Evo 8 TME into an Evo 9 TME. To make an Evo 9 TME, you would have to substiture a Ti/Al Turbine wheel and shaft into an Evo 9 chasis. The Ti/Al turbine wheel and shaft alone is ~$400. Plus the rebuild fee.

So stupid question but is the TME turbo worth my wild? I drive an Evo 8 2003 I am going to turbo trix on saturday and putting hks 280 and flash. I want a 10.5 but for the money i rather buy the TME turbo. I know the turbo has more spool up and the 10.5 housing will give me more to the wheel. What expectation can yous ee out of the turbo? I know it depends on the mods but I have 3" dp, tp, ex, bush intake and filter, xs fmic, 280 hks in a few days and a flash. I have an alky kit but I plan to install it in the future. My next mods I plan is tubular headers, o2 housing and tme turbo and act 2600 with flywheel.

Can you confirm this? 400 is super high for a TiAl wheel.

New TME turbos are not $900. They're closer to $700 from what I've seen. You should also note that you'd still have a spare turbo when you buy the TME.

FYI. Deadbolt performance charged me $299, although I've been waiting since Feb.... FP. was about the same. I have been told that is a healthy retail price as well.

well 250 + 250 to install it at a shop is what I was thinking. But if I do it then yeah 250 but if I am goign to do it I might as well put a new turbo since I have to pull the freaking thing out anyways. Not to mention the time you spend on it.

700 is rare or used... (and I'd be carefull) I have seen deals for 800, but the standard retail seems to be around 900ish.

The Ti wheel doesn't add much other than slightly quicker spool, so "for the money" it's usually for people who are slightly more picky and want everything to be perfect regardless of expense.

I just spoke with WORKS. They'll probably have a test run completed within the next 2 weeks! --- which is awesome for me, since I need a base flash for the new combo turbo.
