I run mine to the MAF pipe (like stock) and it runs great for me.
+1 on the APS

To me, this topic is pretty interesting. When I got BR stage 2 and the APS BOV, I questioned which way to install the BOV would be best, so I did some searching. Everything I read said "put it on the UICP" which I agree makes the most sense anyway, when you consider the purpose of a BOV. My question is, why was it mounted closer to the MAF pipe from the factory?

yup yup

Yeh it is interesting.....when its mounted on the UICP...the bottom is on the pipe, and is there a hose that runs from the side (the other opening) of the bov back to the MAF pipe?

Basically when you let off the throttle in stock form the air would go:
UICP -> recirc tube -> BOV -> MAF pipe

Now it would go:
UICP -> BOV -> recirc tube -> MAF pipe

The recirc tube just mounts differently, though the overall routing of the air, relative to the two holes in the BOV is the same (i.e. this is not another "I mounted my BOV backwards" thread)

Dude, you are closer than you knew.

http://www.aps-wrx.com/

Closer than us any way. I have had this BOV in the stock location for about a year.

Daily driver, no problems at all.
