Its not a cool noise like a nice cat back exhaust or the rumble my HKS272 cams make.
"Streetable" is one of those vague terms that is only defined by the person involved. Some people will actually think HKS 272s lope too much for their taste and hurt the power under 3k RPM too much for a daily driver. There are definitely compromises involved with the Tiltons and each person will have to decide what clutch is right for them.

I definitely wouldn't make a rash decision about getting rid of it for a huge loss, but if you do - someone is going to get a heck of a deal.

yep thats how twin plates are I have an exedy twin plate in my car and its very loud and also chatters off the line if I don't rev the engine up a bit. Just idling the clutch will chatter and people always ask if somethings wrong with my car and if it does chatter off the line it will shake the car a bit. it holds great though so no complaints in that area. but i have been tempted to switch to say a ACT heavy duty clutch and just be done with all the noises of the twins.

My boy has a tilton twin disk on his 500hp civic, its drives and sounds like stock. I honestly did not even know it was there. Then drove an evo with a twin disk, and man how anoying. Honestly i dont think its the clutch causing this. I would have to say its the lack of pilot bearing. This alows the tranny input shaft for be all slopy and have tons of play. I had a pontiac fiero and we did a clutch swap, i took the pilot bearing out and forgot to put it back in. It drove and sounded just like an evo with a twin disk. crazy huh.

The EVO doesn't have a pilot bearing. The shaft is self-supported inside the trans.

I can tell you that all the twin and triple disks are definately off my list of possible clutch replacments. Having a $30K car that sounds like its about to fall apart doens't rank at the top of my mod list.

I think I would rather replace a stock style clutch twice as often.

Yeah i know that, but if you grab the input shaft on an evo it has alot more play than say a honda shaft. and a honda is suported via pilot bearing. I just think if it used a pilot bearing it would help some.

Its not a pilot shaft issue causing noise. The harmonics are transferring into the tranny as already stated. From the tranny those harmonics enter the drivshaft. Thats where it gets noisy. FWD cars dont have a driveshaft. The halfshfts dont transmitt the noise.

I have tried a handful of twinplate clutches. The best is the tilton carbon/carbon. Doesn't make any chatter noises, no squeeling, and the driveshaft noises are at a miniumum as the carbon clutches absorb most of the harmonics.

You can buy very low mile stock clutches for around 150. Have it installed and sell the tilton you have. It should sell for 8-1000 for only being used a few weeks old. I feel your pain on the noises. I can't stand them myself. I also think it ruins the daily fun these cars have to offer. Good luck with your decision.

I am thinking I might consider the ACT clutch. The one rated for 400hp (I think its the 2900). I was considering next year putting in the bigger turbo (Vishnu's V550), but that isn't until next year. Maybe once I get to that point...it won't be my daily driver and I'll yank the seats out and weld in the roll bars....

I have a lot of miles and launches on my Exedy twin-plate and it's super smooth except it grabs like a ****. I guess I got lucky or something right about the installed shop then.
