Can anyone shed some light on why reverse gear in my IX MR would, all of a sudden, start poping out. The shifter is not going as far as it used to in the reverse gate no matter what little tricks I try. Maybe 1 out of 30 attempts results in rearward drive, unacceptable.

Seemingly relavent mods:
Powerflex front and sides(x2) poly mounts (thumbs up for vibrations)
RRE x clutch and stainless line

 

is your clutch catching really close to the floor after it was installed- if so just go under the clutch pedal and adjust its travel (loosen 2 small nuts on rod and twist with fingers)

 

that happen to me to when I install the UICP with the small battery it was rudding with the pipe itself, the shift link that is. that might be was's happening to yours

 

The clutch engages nicely in the middle of the travel and has stayed consistent in this regard. I will check my Nisei UICP but since I`ve been running it for well over a month with no problems I`m a little sceptical of that being the cause.
