oil leak between the block and head

oil leak between the block and head

well im upgrading my intake manifold so i took my stock intake manifold off
and i find oil on the stock intake manifold flange, intake gasket and the block
im not to sure if it is leaking from my head gasket
the leak is not a bad leak but u can tell its been leaking for some time now

the ? is what should i do to fix this ?

Good thing to do is re check them see if they are still torqued to spec.

me and my buddy never retighten, and it leaked oil.

so if i retorqued the headstubs should i be cool
would i have to replace the head gasket ?

Make sure the oil isn't comming from the 4 small ports in the runners first (just the crankcase venting).

If someone did the one @ a time headstud install this is probably what started the leak on the back of the head that the 4g63 is prone to do. If it is a very small amount it is probably fine but always do the normal checks (compression, leakdown and coolant flush) to be sure you are not mixing anything. This probably is more of a seapage than a real leak becuase it is such a small amount that it usually never hits the floor or if it does it is just a drop or two.

The only way to really fix it is to replace the head gasket while having everything check (block, head, studs) to make sure they are inside their normal tollorance values.
