wish they would have used the technology that's in the new corvettes. tiny space and weight saving battery.

Funny you mention that. Buschur has a mini battery kit coming out soon. Knocks of 20 pounds from the old bulky battery and has more cranking power to boot.

Anyone know what amp rating the Buschur battery has?

I went with the Odyssey 925 amp dry cell bettery, at 24#s. It a lot shorter/narrower than the stock battery, yet still has more cold cranking amperage.

Check out http://www.batcap.net/Model800.html .

This battery weighs about 10 lbs and discharges and recharges as fast as a capacitor but for longer durations. This is a great all around battery. Rated at 800 CCA. A must for anyone putting in an amplified stereo. The smaller battery will help offset the weight my car gained by installing the stereo and its better on the charging system of the vehicle.

I was just thinking the same thing.. However I'm fairly certain new battery technologies use Gel Cell packs, the military uses them for the starters and ignitors on turbine engines.. Their designed for extreme duty, but who knows.. Though most standard car batteries have a liquid in them, so in theory, the really cold weather causes the chemical reaction to be much slower, therefore less amps generated.. Gel packs generally aren't affected as severely by really cold, or really hot weather.. Now, this is all assuming they used a battery that used the same technology that I'm familiar with.. For all I know, the battery could be a bunch of computer laptop batteries wired together (Ducking from thrown objects)

Same in Upstate New York

Cold = good power at least and we can get 94 or 100 octane fuel at the local gas station in New York.

I don't know the cranking power. It does not say on their site.

That was Shiv at Vishnu that was going to do that. The thread was about weight reduction by taking out the bumpers.
