UnderDrive Light Weight Pulleys are GOOD
I did a little test and this is my car yours maybe different.
Results are in!
I ran 3 pulls back to back 3rd gear with the stock pulley set.
Put the UR pulley set on and then ran 3 more 3rd gear pulls within the same hour of the stock pulleys, on the same road. The only difference between the two is that the intake temps are 5 degrees higher with the UR pulleys, due to heat soak.
I can see NO noticeable difference in the Knock voltage with my EMS. So it doesn't and won't pull timing.
The motor is more responsive and seems to pull better with the light weight underdrive pulley set. In my case the pulleys are great. This is just to give a little real world results not just guesses. I recommend people to give these pulleys a second chance, I did as i have installed, removed, and reinstalled in fear of all the rumors about them.

Are there under drive pulleys for the alternator, etc for the EVO (AEM, etc)? I used these on other cars in the past and only seem to see the crank pulley available for the EVO... Am I just missing something?
I only underdrive pulley ive found is the crank. The UR alt and water pulley are not much lighter and are the sam dia.
I have the full set of Unorthodox Racing pulleys i got a great deal on them a local shop when out of business and picked up the whole set.

However, I agree that changing it just to get a few ponnies is not recommended unless you only use it for qualification in racing or drag racing.
I used to have a 6 in line engine that needed a lighter damper because the stock one kept breaking (due to the high rpms), in this specific case it was necesary and it was used only for drag racing.

I think pulleys are a great mod! I had a crank pulley on my last car for I don't know how many miles, and I never had a problem. It definitely revved a little bit lighter, and the throttle response was improved.
For those wondering about installation time... I tried to take my last car to a shop to have them do it, and they were going to charge me an hours worth of labor. I came back in an hour and they said it was the wrong pulley for the car. (wtf?) I knew they were lying so I decided to do it myself. It took ME an hour to do it, and I had NEVER done it before. Honestly it was a very easy install, and it would have been much quicker if my stock crank pulley wasn't still stuck on tight after I removed the bolt.
All I did was unplug my spark plugs, jack up my car, put the lug wrench on the bolt and propped the handle against the axle, crank the engine for a half second, and then removed the bolt the rest of the way. Also you have to loosen and remove the belt, obviously. After that it's just a matter of putting the new one on in place of the old one. Couldn't be easier! I'm about to do this again to my Evo when I get home. It's cool to hear that it gets about 10hp from what High PSI was saying. I wasn't expecting quite as much.
