I'm getting some 272/272 Cams and am looking for the following

Can any of you guys recommend a good place to get the above kit?

Cheers

slowboy racing should sell them. They may not be listed on his site...but I know Mark can get them.

I dont know about Manley, maybe mine was just unfortunate.. but when I used them on my turbo honda I dropped a valve because 1 retainer cracked and what do you know entire motor was destroyed. Since then I have only ever used Ferrea or Supertech.

Me personally I am going with supertech because that is what I trust. I reved my old honda to 10k and had Manley on my head for 4000 miles and the manley retainer cracked, Replaced with supertech on my new head reved to 10k for 2yrs straight while turboed, Just my personal experience maybe it was a flaw in the retainer and I was unlucky.. And believe me the worst thing you can do is drop a valve Entire motor probably is trash.

did you properly chamfer the springs before you installed the top end?
did you also check seat height?
was it a stock valve?
I have never had a failure with any Manley parts for any car
usually its installation or tuning error
i had the same motor running 4 straight years with many track events
with only a refresh build every season to check tolerance and re ringing

Matt

Why dont you go with the Piper Race Cam kit. They are 272 but if you look at the hard numbers they are more agressive then most on the market. The kit comes with springs and retainers.

I have got the BP300 cam kit in my car which are thye 265s and they are a treat and rev out nicely.
