Thinking about doing 2.3L

Hey I am thinking about doing the following to my 04 Evo VIII. First doing either shortblock 2.3L stroker or having Vivid Racing do a 2.3L stroker on my engine block. I am also thinking about sending both the transfer case and transmission to Shephard Racing while it is at Vivid. Having them install the Cusco twinplate I got from a GB here with clutchline and tob. What else do you think I should do, I only have 6k to mess with.

I would suggest you get more money first.

There are a lot of supporting mods that you will have to do to compliment the stroker. I have a list of crap somewhere that I will try to track down that I had to buy when getting my stroker put together.

Also, make sure that the stroker is what you need. What will you be using the car for?

what he said, just getting the short block & installation will run you about $6000.
I could be wrong but you may need a stand alone w/ a 2.3

You can pick up the 2.4L shortblock for around $3200 if you shop around. I think RNR had one sitting there already to go for that price.

We are offering the 2.3 Stroker kit at $1399 . If you need assembly we can do it also. A 2.3 EVO is a totally different animal from the stock EVO. I would recommend at least a GT3071 with the 2.3 EVO as the stock turbo and even the 20G's quickly run out of breathe with all that extra exhaust gas. Give us a ring if you're looking for options!

Cheers,

Gary
